A Textless Master (or "Textless Version") is a version of the final program in which all on-screen text — including title cards, lower thirds, end credits, and any text that was composited into the image — has been removed. Textless masters are a standard delivery requirement for international distribution, as they allow foreign distributors to add their own translated text (in their local language) without having to composite over the original English text. The textless master is typically delivered alongside the full-text version.
The Post-Production Supervisor reviews the international delivery requirements: "The international distributor needs a textless master for all 10 episodes. This means we need to re-export every scene that has on-screen text — title cards, lower thirds, location supers — without the text composited in. Please make sure the online editor creates a textless version of every affected sequence."
