The Supervising Sound Editor is the head of the sound editorial department in post-production. They are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sound post-production process, including dialogue editing, ADR, foley, and sound effects editing. They work closely with the director and the re-recording mixer to ensure that the sonic vision of the film is realized. On larger productions, the supervising sound editor may have a team of dialogue editors, sound effects editors, and foley editors working under them.
The post-production supervisor introduces the sound team to the director: "This is our Supervising Sound Editor.
