fireWALL Dance Theater was established in 2013 as a theatrical, contemporary dance company under the artistic direction of Elisa-Marie Alaio. Over the past years, Elisa has curated multiple full-length productions that have been recognized for breaking barriers and confronting social challenges. The organization has expanded by opening a drop-in dance studio, navigating the struggles of the COVID-19 pandemic to create a beautiful safe space for dancers of all levels and ages. Their mission is to provide a safe environment where everyone feels welcomed, excited, nurtured, challenged, and accepted. The goal is to facilitate students' growth by encouraging creative freedom while sharing knowledge, experience, and inspiration. The studio offers various classes, including contemporary, ballet, jazz, and hip hop, and serves as a rehearsal space for the Pittsburgh performing arts community.
